Having built
up a successful kennel of Italian Spinone dogs, I decided
I would like to venture into the world of cats.
I have always had an interest in pedigree cats and in particular
the Siamese and Orientals.
Their temperament is akin to a dog and they come in many different
patterns and colours. Being interested in colour genetics
in animals, I decided that the Oriental was the breed for
me.
I decided I would start with an Oriental black. I found a
local breeder and placed my name on her list for a Black girl.
Her queen, Storm produced a litter containing one black female.
She came to us at 13 weeks and we called her Lara.
I looked around for a second breed and fell in love with the
Bengal.
The markings on these cats is amazing, they are stunningly
beautiful.
I approached one of the top breeders in Bengals and visited
her cattery. She had amazing cats and showed me several litters
to choose from.
I picked a rich coloured female from Clementine and Thrillers
litter. Clementine had the temperament I was looking for,
she was so affectionate and Thriller was stunning.
Keira arrived home two days before Lara.
At first they sat in separate boxes, hissing at each other.
Then they started to be curious of each other. It only took
a day before they were racing round the house, playing and
creating havoc and are now lifelong friends.
